Trust Him and seek Him for yourself NOW
We hear a lot about self-care. But what about self-love? What about soul love? This type of love is not selfish if it comes from the true Source of love, who pours Himself into us by His Spirit. God not only loves us like no one ever will or could in the entire universe, He is love itself.
Let’s back track to sixty years ago. Think of the famous MLK speech at The Lincoln Memorial in 1963. Was that love? Was that a call to action and then some? I believe so. As a matter of fact, I believe The Holy Spirit spoke through MLK that day. Read this and tell me why you think otherwise or agree. Pay special attention to the last two paragraphs.
Jesus Christ died so that we could be free. He descended to earth so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. A holy sacrifice to God. He took our place on the cross, as the punishment for sin is death. He demonstrated agape love, and still does today, through His Spirit. No one in the universe, no matter how much they love you can ever love you like this.
The beautiful thing is even if you gain nothing else, a life surrendered to God is the best thing you can ever have. It means He leads you in everything that you do, leading you along the way, and you know exactly where your soul is going for eternity when you die. For from dust we were created, to dust we shall return. (Genesis 3:19)
I think we weren’t even meant to pass away. God made Adam and Eve immortal, and they were so innocent they didn’t even realize they were naked until they sinned, and shame and blame began. A grown man, and a grown woman. He didn’t want them to die in their sin, so from the very beginning God made a way for them, for us, even then. Jesus is the way, the only way to God. If anyone preaches another way to you, that is a lie. Don’t walk away, RUN! Enoch was and then he was not, because he walked with God every day. (Genesis 5:24) When some of the most notable men of God were passing away in The Bible they literally climbed in bed and passed away peacefully. And The Bible makes note of saying they lived to be a ripe old age and then died.
And so, we must take care of every part of our lives that we can while we’re here, and while we’re young, in every way. Just as God is in three persons, Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit, we are also one in three, body, soul, and spirit. And we were created in His image.
I know one thing for sure, God loves me. I shall not want. He is true to His Word. And He is always faithful to His Promises. The Good News is available to everyone. Ask, seek, knock. Come to Him, the One who truly loves you and He will give you rest for your soul. Let Him fill your cup continually until it overflows, and then you can pour into someone else’s cup.
Have you ever seen a wine glass pyramid where liquid is poured from the top and overflows to the bottom row? You are that glass at the top. So, what are you allowing to be poured in your life? In your soul? In your home? In your heart? In your eyes and ears? Who are you pouring out to or worshipping or idolizing? Who are you following on social media? The same spirit that’s in them is being poured into you. So do not be filled with wine or selfish ambition, lust of any kind or sin, but be continually filled by The Holy Spirit, for He is One (there are many spirits in the world, but only ONE Holy Spirit) and you too, shall not want.
This song is on my heart for you today. I pray it blesses you.
